Gingerbread Earrings.

Just a quick update... I wanted to show you these adorable little earrings I bought last week (@ Claire's Accessories). They're the magnetic kind because I don't have pierced ears. To be honest the magnets pinch a bit if I wear them for too long... oh but they were just too cute to resist! (I would say they're 'sweet' but it's probably a little cliché, tehe)

I've been really weighed down with coursework stress lately that I've broken that unwritten taboo of not updating in over a week, so I really must apologise for neglecting you beautiful people and your ever so beautiful blogs. I should be back on blogger by Tuesday (after my art deadline) and will start replying to comments again then, but for now I've gota bury myself in my sketchbook... 'til then TTFN!

It's not what you say, what you say is too complicated

I took these photos two weeks ago but forgot to post them... I keep taking outfit shots and then get waaaaay too fussy about which ones make it onto the blog. I don't really like this picture of myself but it was the only decent shot I got of this outfit... apparently I look like a nymph, a dazed nymph at that - hence why I'm calling this my "uhh, has the camera taken the photo yet??" face. I'm not sure what provoked the daft pose either but I wanted to get my shoes in the shot somehow...

Oooh I'd like to introduce you to my topshop bird ring aka. my dear pal 'Perry' (affectionately named because he's periwinkle blue). I'd like to say he's a long distance cousin of Perry the Platypus, because he keeps disappearing at random moments - he's most likely off solving crime or something... aha, I've been brainwashed by Disneyy.

I wish I'd taken some better outfit shots because the print on the dress is really lovely; it's got teeny-tiny Eiffel Towers, flowers and an array of mini L'arc de Triomphe's... c'est très chic mes amis! tehe.
Most of the clothes are from primark; except the shoes (topshop), tights (new look) and the necklace (which I'm wearing as a headband) is from Accessorize.

Today's Anthem - '1901' by Phoenix. I get soo excited when I hear a song, have no idea what it was called and then randomly stumble across it ages later, do you ever get that too?? It's an amazing feeling, is it not? ;)

TTFN!

Once upon a time I failed my AS levels and had to join the circus

This is the product of complete and utter boredom... and the realisation that I'd yet to take any photos for my art project. I know it's summer, but Mr A. Level doesn't gimme a break. So I get all the necklaces I can find, throw 'em in a hat and voila! Some nice photos, and a ridiculous mess of tangled jewellery.

Eeeek, it's AS results day tomorrow! Wish me luck....

C'est millésime!

This is one of my more vintage / eclectic looks... It was one of those rare days when the sun decided to show it's face, yet I decided to stay indoors, with Elle magazine and Audrey Hepburn (in Breakfast at Tiffany's) for company ;)

Hope you've all had a nice weekend!

The world's so much better when you don't fit

I went to the garden centre with my darling grandmother this afternoon - she was on a hunt for plant pots. I however got distracted by some rather groovy cacti' ....

My song for the day - "Ladder in my Tights" by Amy Studt. I used to love her music; it's so down-to-earth and pleasantly aggressive. Her lyrics make me smile because I can relate, but not to the extreme of wanting to blow up houses, though that does sound fun... just kidding. Mwahaha. n_n
The song's mostly about not fitting in, which is something that a lot of people experience, and undoubtedly so do my darling cacti' - they look different and are therefore easily dismissed, but the fact they're unusual makes them all the more beautiful. What do you think true beauty means? Feel free to leave a comment and discuss :)

On to other unusual and beautiful things...

My new necklace that I am absolutely in love with! It's from Dorothy Perkins - I also saw a silver 'Happily Ever After' necklace in the same style from Topshop a while ago (which was nearly twice as expensive!)

I went on a hunt for cameo jewellery today; after the disappointment of missing out on the most gorgeous belt in the universe - it was on sale for £45! Ridiculous right?! But it was by a designer called Galliano and it was electric pink with a chunky cameo at the front. My mum gasped at the price and demanded I make my own instead... and so I shall.
I bought a few more similar cameo's in different colours as they were only £1 from this vintage jewellery shop near my Gran's house. I'll probably turn them into brooches or an eclectic necklace (with ribbons, pearls and other sparkly things..) tehe.
