Nothing seems as pretty as the past though

Romwe pullover & chiffon vest, Missguided wedges, New Look perspex collar necklace, Topshop leigh jeans, Fluro Cambridge Satchel, Storets raincoat.

Polyvore is my go-to procrastination station - my brain's like "Hey any chance you're gona do that cwk you've been putting off for over a week now?" And I'm all like "Brain, please, I've got more pressing matters, like eating biscuits and making polyvore sets full of clothes I can't afford, gosh." Obviously got my priorities set straight (she says as she slips into education limbo)

Apparently it's spring or summer or something, I really can't tell since it's freezing outside. This is just my pessimistic outlook for summer dressing... a jumper? Yes, trust me. But I also thought about trading it in with a light weight raincoat on the off chance it got warmer and then rained. So it's functional fashion, yaaaay. I tried on topshop's version of the clear raincoat last week, and you all know how much I love topshop, but honestly I've never been more disappointed. I tried it on with bare arms and it just clung to me really awkwardly, the sizing's off so whilst it was really big around the body the armholes / sleeves were really tight so I couldn't move my arms properly. For a plastic coat it's just not worth the money. Sorry topshop, I still love you, but as for the coat, it's a definite thumbs down.
You can get the cambridge satchel's from ASOS I think, which is great cuz I just checked and it's on sale now. I thought for someone like me who practically lives in monochrome, working in this summer's fluorescent colour trend is probably best done with accessories, and this particular one makes an ace statement piece. There we go, every cliched sentiment in the fashion handbook.

What I wish I was wearing right now...

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my last few posts, I'm a little behind on replying to comments and I've got a busy weekend ahead but I promise to get back to you all as soon I get a free moment - which might even be tomorrow seeing as college is closed once again because of the snow. I would be overjoyed by this news but I need to get on with my cwk which can only be accessed on the college mac's ;( grrrr "sn-oh no!"

I've been spending way to long on polyvore these days but I really had to share this one... I love this outfit, it's a little different from my usual style, but I feel that since starting this blog my style has started to evolve, just a little bit. I don't really know how to define my personal style, other than 'British' (because I am ;) and ever so slightly whimsical.
... Alexa Mulberry, Acne jeans, studded lace-ups, Alexander McQueen clutch bag (ahh, in my dreams), oh and that silver cardigan is actually for men, but I see no problem with wearing it... casual slouchy style + awesome sparkly thread, it's like the definition of laid back glamour ;)

I escaped through a keyhole before they erased me

Forever Unique dress, Birger et Mikkelsen Night Balanchine velvet blazer, Vintage bowler hat, Rianna Black shoes, Mandy Coon bunny bag.

I'm going to a masquerade ball in a few weeks and I have come across THE perfect dress. Yup, that beauty up there is from Forever Unique (love the name ;) although it's a fair bit outa my price bracket...
Oh but what is money when I can imagine an entire night of magic in that dress?? With it's smokey lavender layers floating amidst the winter winds, the black crystals shimmering like starlight, the beautiful yet dark velvet vines creeping out from my waistline, enticing my spirit to a night of wanderlust and mystery... ahaha, getting a little carried away there, but it's all in the magic of the masquerade ;)

Ohhh, but despite my whimsical ramblings money is tight and I've already got a perfectly good outfit which I can wear. I've settled on the dress I got for my birthday - it's a simple black shift, but there's a touch of glamour in the sequin flowers around the neckline. Oh and I have a mask to match too but it makes my eyebrows itch, haha.

I spent too long on polyvore and came up with these other two outfits, which I thought I might as well post because I love the idea of wearing a black sequin dress with Doc Martens. It's classy, edgy and ever-so quirky at the same time ;)

Poly-olly-olly-vore

I've been spending a lot of time on polyvore lately (I swear it's addictive!) and I created some outfit combos on (what turned out to be) an autumnal / slightly militarian theme...

I actually started having palpitations whilst creating the last one; Marni Blazer + Burberry dress + McQueen clutch = major label swooning... and I couldn't resist including a classic Chanel bag, you know, for good measure. Not that I could possibly afford any one of these items, but hey we can all dream...

On another note, 'Dirty Little Liars' starts tomorrow night (8pm) on Viva!
I'm pretty excited about it 'cuz it's been described as "Gossip Girl meets The Clique meets Desperate Housewives". I already know the plot of the book series that the show is based on, so I'm keen to see if it does them justice. Here's a taster of what to expect...

My new boots

In my ever-so eager anticipation for autumn, I jumped in on the shearling trend and got these lovely fold-over faux sheepskin ankle boots. They're a size too big but it doesn't bother me in the slightest because they're soo comfy! Problem is I can't wear them outdoors just yet because they need water-proofing :( but for now they'll do for romping about the house.

I truely adore them, so much so I'm thinking of naming them (yep, I name my stuff once it's deemed special enough)... I'm thinking Suzie and Shaun, tehe. Pretty snazzy right?? Oooh snazzy, that's a fun word... snazzy, snazzieee, snazz-eyyyy...
Excuse the randomness but I'm all hyped up on cheesecake and macaroons, mmmm, macaroons.... ok, I'm snazzing out of it!
Eeep, I mean snapping!
...Okay, moving swiftly on - this is my first attempt at making a polyvore! I'm maybe a teensy bit addicted to polyvore now, I'll have to post some others at a later date, but I'm quite happy with this;

I also found this image of Zara's autumn lookbook earlier and wanted to share it with you guys

I wasn't too fond of it at first but they're really growing on me - the chunky knits and knee socks are especially adorable.
I absolutely can't wait for autumn now, and unleashing my autumn wardrobe onto the blogosphere, tehe.

TTFN!

(p.s. you have no idea how hard (and painful) it was taking that photo of my boots whilst they were on my actual feet... Note to self: don't try bending like that again, ever.)
